Back at the Concours

Having already spent a day out at the Concours d?Elegance of America at St. John?s touring this years spread just two weeks ago it was time to head back this weekend for seconds.

Back on the Concours

The thirty fourth edition of the Concours of d?Elegance is now in the books as Sunday marked the final day of this years event, leaving staff and patrons alike already looking forward to attending next year on Sunday July 28th, 2013.

With over 300-plus classic cars on display and a packed Sunday showing it?s hard to call this year?s edition anything other then a success. The extra space since the move from Meadow Brook Hall to the Inn at St. John?s has clearly been put to good use.

Old and New Cars alike shared the Concours

Even with a second day on the grounds there was plenty to catch up from this years auction results to who managed best in show for what category. And that?s not even mentioning all the classics parked in the lot as enthusiast and spectators alike took advantage of the lovely weather to come out in style.

The auction was equally big this year, with 174 lots total and prices going for as little as $19,800 for a 1972 Bentley T-Type Saloon, to as much as $957,000 for a 1930 Duesenberg Model SJ Convertible Victoria. The infamous ?Al Capone? car saw the Cadillac fetching $341,000, the fifth highest price of the night.
